He wandered, amorphous steps, strided on the blanket of golden leaves, rustling through melodious sound of autumn, gentle and sad. Secluded park serene lake of tranquility, calming breeze, a shadow tilting along memories nostalgia of an old autumn ...
Lonely bench sniveling - her soft sweet voice called his name, playfully brushed strands of silky hair with her fingers and smiled at him - a smile that would brighten up the gloomiest day and melt a frozen heart. Those moments embraced her in his arms as she whispered her love soothes an aching soul. ...
The first time their eyes met, ravishing beauty in a simple summer dress captured his gaze as he said "Hello!" Indeed, she was the one woman whom ever understood him, loved him, who made minutes spent together worth every breath and nothing else in life weighted more important. From the moment he met her, he knew - he knew she was his future. A future enfolded by Love.
Despite his complex life in the armed force, where bullets travel fast at the speed of light, day of returning home as vivid as haze - she'd wait. Beyond his wildest dreams, struggled through exhaustion of responsibilities, duties, battlefields, honor the oath to protect and to serve "Freedom". Thus he realized, he was the luckiest man on this planet, to have the person he loved, loved him back.
Although, as for the unconditional love, it just was not enough. Then, the moment he was informed of her ended chapter, his heart shattered with excruciating pain as if a blinded horrid cold bullet entered his skin, torn through jugular vein, cut through his airway, pierced through the carotid artery and placed a hole in his heart. His soul was lost and part of him was dead.
Months had passed and he still resting on regrets. Undeniably, his biggest regrets are not for the things he did – but for the things he did not do. Things he wanted to say but did not say to the one he cared about, the person he loved. He did not get to say the three simple words he yearned and wished to say so many times. He wanted to look into her deep brown eyes and tell her how her love had kept him alive. He could not place the “ring” on her finger and ask her hand to forever be his, two hearts – one life together ‘til the end of time.
Gentle wind caresses his face, singing a gentle loving lullaby – “Remember me, the further we are from last seen each other, the closer we are to meet again. Our love is true and I forever love you…”
Yes, the path toward home, birds chirping song of hope, of dreams … one day, we will meet again. “I love you, forever and always.”
A fall yellow leaf descends, life starts and ends – but only Love remains indestructible through time.
